JUSTICE GARY D. WADE, December 12th, 2014
The Forum is pleased to welcome Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Gary Wade to the podium for a discussion of economic issues facing East Tennessee. Justice Wade is an eight-year veteran of the Tennessee Supreme Court and a 27-year member of the state judiciary. He is a Sevierville native, served as Mayor of the city from 1977 to 1987, and is actively involved in the protection and preservation of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. He is the Chairman Emeritus of Friends of the Smokies, an organization he co-founded over 20 years ago. A former board chair of the Knoxville Zoo, he served on the Board of Directors for the East Tennessee Historical Society and a number of non-profit organizations. He is a co-founder of Leadership Sevier and the Sevier County High School Foundation. In 2014, he was named the appellate judge of the year in the Southeast by the American Board of Trial Advocates. Justice Wade holds bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Tennessee.
